Barbara Hayes

I love to paint in watercolor.  The freshness and spontaneity of the medium is what appeals to me the most. I'm fond of drawing and painting landscapes, seascapes, florals and animals, especially dogs.  To capture the spirit and personality of the pet is important to me.   My current paintings are of the Pacific Coast, national parks, Louisiana swamps and marshes, Florida beaches, dogs and cats, orchids and other flowers. I’m also venturing out in portraits.

I attended the Academy of Fine Art in New Orleans for several years, and studied the work of Edgar Whitney, Winslow Homer, Tony Couch and Pat Weaver.  Art is a wonderful endeavor; there is a vast and dynamic amount to learn.
